Petunia is a genus of flowering plants from the family Solanaceae whose flowers are trumpet-shaped. This plant comes from South America . This plant is 16–30 cm tall, with single or double crowned flowers, and a variety of colors (eg red, white, pale yellow, blue, and dark purple). This genus consists of at least 20 species. Petunias are generally pollinated by insects, with the exception of Petunia exserta which is pollinated by hummingbirds. Generally petunias are diploid with 14 chromosomes and cannot be crossed between species.
This plant can reach a height of 40 cm and has many branches, but the branches are so weak that the petunia plant cannot grow upright. Overgrown with very fine hairs, the leaves of this plant grow face to face. The petiole is short, about 5–10 cm long by 4–6 cm wide. The flowers of this plant grow at the end of the stem, the petals are reddish green, the petals are trumpet-shaped, and the inner flower tube is yellow.
